In Norse mythology, Nanna was the wife of Balder (god of light) and the couple had a son, the god Forseti (god of justice).
After Balder’s death, he was taken to the seaside, and when his body was placed unto his ship Hringhorni (greatest of all ships), Nanna collapsed and died of grief. Her body was placed upon the ship together with Balder, the ship was set aflame, and pushed out to sea. (picture)
